✨ A unique artistic signature: Dave Verreault-Thisselmagan is the only Indigenous artist to create this type of mural with a fox head, blending natural materials, cultural symbolism and traditional know-how.
This mural artwork was born from a natural dialogue between the land and my hands.
I have combined the presence of the fox, messenger of the territory, and the lightness of feathers, which recall the breath of the wind and freedom.
I handcraft each piece here in Quebec, drawing inspiration from the Innu traditions passed down in my family.
For this creation, I chose a real fox head, natural feathers and driftwood that I collect myself on Nitassinan, the territory that inspires me every day.
I select each element intentionally:
the texture of the wood, the color of the feathers, the light of the fur.
My goal is always to bring a balance between strength and gentleness, between character and harmony.
For me, each work becomes a bridge between the earth and the world of the living.
Hung on a wall, it exudes a noble and soothing presence, and invites contemplation, gratitude and a simpler connection with nature.
