The legend of the bear who sleeps under the snow
When winter blankets the earth, the bear falls asleep beneath the snow. His sleep is not an end, but a sacred time of healing and rebirth. In the silence of the cold season, he dreams of the world to come and teaches us patience, rest, and trust in life.
❄️ Around the fire, on a winter evening
Night fell over the frozen lake. The wind carried the scent of burnt wood, and the stars twinkled above the snow-covered pines.
Around the fire, the children had gathered closer. The old man, draped in a blanket, watched the flame dance and said softly:
" What you hear, my children, is not the wind. It is the breath of the bear, asleep beneath the snow. "
🕯️ The world's first winter
Long ago, the Earth did not know winter. The seasons followed one another without rest, and the weary rivers flowed endlessly.
Seeing this, the Great Spirit gathered the animals and said:
“ The Earth needs silence. Who among you will agree to dream for her while she rests? ”
The wolves hesitated, the birds remained silent. Only the bear stepped forward.
“ I will sleep for the Earth. My heart will beat in rhythm with its .”
Then, winter was born.
🌨️ The Bear's Big Sleep
When the first snowflakes fell, the bear looked for a cave.
He entered alone, greeting the forest, the spirits, and the stars. Then he lay down on the cold earth and closed his eyes.
The snow gradually covered his shelter, and the world fell silent.
But beneath the mountain, the bear was dreaming.
He dreamed of rivers flowing again, flowers blooming in the sun, and humans learning to wait.
His dream became the breath of the world.
🔥 The sun is back
Moons passed.
One morning, the wind changed. The sun caressed the snow, and a first trickle of water began to flow.
The bear opened its eyes. Its warm breath melted the ice.
He slowly stepped out, raised his head to the sky, and roared. This cry awakened the Earth, the trees, and hearts.
And so spring returns every year — carried by the dream of the bear.
🌿 The message of winter
The bear teaches that rest is a sacred act.
May a rebirth be prepared in every silence.
It reminds us that the Earth sometimes sleeps, not to die, but to heal.
“ He who knows how to fall asleep in peace will wake up stronger ,” say the elders.
Winter is not the end of the world. It is the world meditating.
ConclusionAround the fire, the children listened without moving.
The old man smiled and added:
“When you see the snow falling, remember the bear. Resist the urge to run. Close your eyes for a moment, and let your mind rest.
For it is in silence that the Earth learns to remember spring.”
And in the peaceful night, the wind seemed to answer, like a breath from the world's lair.
